shame shala, Shame shanik, shame to help the heart feel weak
downcast face is something sad, shame shaboo and shame shabad

who can help me bear this light, where all i’ve done is shining bright?
Who can sing me back to strength, unshame these shawls with stretching length?

i can not bear the sun above, unworthy here i feel for love
i know that i could be a thing, much better then than this woe i sing

my hands are wretched to my face, shame shazong and shame shabase
if there’s a rain could wash my pain, shame shalong and shame shamain

then let it come and wash me down till once again my face could fawn
Some say pity is a drink, that if you drink your soul will stink

but i am hungry for that sip, shame shamai and shame shabip

If you paint for me even one thing which is true, perhaps I’ll be tempted to consider two. I tell tales poetically, someone else needs to set them to music.
