Ghosts and Daughters

(artwork by author)

stomp on stream, walking and walking
duck by duck, day by day
dreams of daughters, or women while tiny
keeps the man walking, and dancing in spray
haunted by bestness, by bestings and bestward
lamed by hobbles, by wives and by waves
he wiggles with memory, with future on purpose
he yearns for daughters
and cleanness by spray

If you paint for me even one thing which is true, perhaps I’ll be tempted to consider two. I tell tales poetically, someone else needs to set them to music.
